Association Globetrucker

The “Globetrucker” non-profit association, which was created in Bougy-Villars on January 22^nd, 2002, has 4 principal goals (as specified in the statutes):

• To road transport humanitarian, mainly educational goods by truck for the benefit of children in developing countries, communities in need or distressed areas;

• To use this project to communicate a positive message with regard to education and especially road safety;

• To collect funds, educational material, as well as to find partners and volunteers willing to participate in the Globetrucker project;

• To stimulate and create an exchange of ideas between schools and pupils of different cultures;   

The project was founded by Yves Ballenegger in Switzerland in 2001. As manys as 50 actives members, all voluntary, have organised the delivery of around 100 tons of school material (12 trucks loads) to around 100 schools for 13'000 kids in Russia, Belarus, Romania, Poland and especially to Mongolia where our activities where concentrated until 2009.

Today the association is less active, mostly because of an improved situation in Mongolia as well as a reduced team of participants.

How to participate:

For the moment, the association is not collecting funds or material. This might change soon! As soon as a new valuable project is identified, Globetrucker will resume its activities. You're welcome to send us your details for both project suggestions or if you believe you might be able to participate to a future project.
